Airbus and IIM Mumbai to provide aviation training

Airbus Beyond is a division of Airbus that focuses on preparing professionals for the challenges of the aerospace industry. The programme covers various areas such as aviation logistics, supply chain management, operations excellence, cargo handling, strategic procurement, business analytics, and digitization.

Under this agreement, IIM Mumbai will oversee the organization of courses, admission of students, and provision of necessary infrastructure and support. Meanwhile, Airbus will contribute trainers and training materials from the Airbus Beyond catalogue for short-term courses initially. Additionally, Airbus will collaborate with IIM Mumbai to develop long-term courses and certify trainers in the future.

Rémi Maillard, President and Managing Director of Airbus India and South Asia, expressed optimism about the partnership, stating that it would contribute to the advancement of aerospace education and skills development in India. He believes that this collaboration will help create a robust talent pool for the aviation sector.

Manoj K Tiwari, Director at IIM Mumbai, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, noting that it is the first of its kind between IIM Mumbai and Airbus. The programmes offered aim to enhance both executive and frontline capabilities, catering to the diverse needs of professionals in the aviation industry.
