Hyderabad can’t replace Bengaluru as IT capital: Chandrashekar

Union Ministerof State for Electronics and information Technology Rajeev Chandrashekar said that there is no real competition between Bangalore and Hyderabad. Hyderabad can’t replace Bengaluru as IT capital.

On Thursday, Speaking at the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023, Rajeev Chandrashekar said that Bengaluru’s IT talent is recognised by the world like no other city outside of Silicon Valley. Hyderabad and Bangalore are not really in rivalry with one another. There seems to be a legendary rivalry between the two cities. It has a lot to do with Successive governments and how talent is built in Bangalore. the city is miles ahead when it comes to IT service exports and that there is no actual competition, he said.

He further said that, Whenever a new company is set up in Bengaluru,  he feels both happy and sad because it would creates more traffic in the city.

What does the data say about IT exports?

The state’s IT exports grew 27 percent to Rs 3.2 lakh crore in 2022-23 financial year. Which is 42 percent of total IT exports of india. Meanwhile, Telangana’s IT exports grew by 31 percent to 2.4 lakh crore, which is 31 percent of india’s total IT exports.

Recently, Information Technology Industry veteran and former board member of Infosys T V Mohandas Pai cautioned the State government that Hyderabad might soon replace Bengaluru as the IT capital of india.
