BJP plans grassroots outreach to expand Kerala vote base

In addition to physical outreach, the BJP has asked workers to enhance their digital presence by using social media and artificial intelligence tools effectively.

The BJP has unveiled a comprehensive grassroots strategy to broaden its support base in Kerala ahead of the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, with a strong emphasis on booth-level engagement and targeted voter outreach.

An internal party document outlines plans to connect with diverse sections of society, including women associated with Narayaneeyam bhajan groups, Kudumbashree members, ASHA workers and anganwadi staff, as part of efforts to strengthen its organisational presence across the state.

Under its "Mission 2029" roadmap, the party has directed local units to undertake focused interventions to build long-term support among students from Class 10 through graduation. It also plans to establish a ten-member NaMo task force in every booth, alongside dedicated groups for women and youth.

The strategy places special emphasis on increasing the party's reach among Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and Other Backward Class communities by mobilising at least 20 members from these sections in every booth. Senior citizens above 80 years of age and persons with disabilities have also been identified as priority groups for outreach.

The document further calls for strengthening engagement with members of community and religious organisations, with particular attention to Hindu and Christian voters.

In addition to physical outreach, the BJP has asked workers to enhance their digital presence by using social media and artificial intelligence tools effectively. It has also issued guidelines on responsible communication, advising members to avoid sharing unauthorised or controversial content on WhatsApp and to consult senior leaders before responding to sensitive issues. The document also encourages cadre to create engaging short-form videos using appropriate formats and content for grassroots campaigns.
