BJP-JDS alliance: HD Kumarswamy meets Goa CM Pramod Sawant

A month after JDS alliance with the BJP for LokSabha Election, JDS leader HD Kumarswamy met Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant in Panaji along with his son Nikhil, to take the talks forward and start discussions on the seat-sharing issue. The JDS is said to have sought six seats for the Lok Sabha election in the state.

After meeting Goa CM, HD Kumarswamy said that we have met Sawant in Panaji reportedly on Sunday and asked him to fix an appointment with the BJP high command to discuss seat-sharing  issue.

Since the alliance, none of the senior leaders like BS Yediyurappa and Baswaraj Bommai have met Kumarswamy to take the talks forward.

Meanwhile, HD Kumarswamy has maintained that the seat-sharing issue would be discussed with the BJP leaders after the Dasara festival and is hoping to get an appointment with the central leaders. The former CM Kumarswamy to formalise the seat-sharing issue as early as possible as a section of his own party leaders are upset with the alliance.

JDS is said to have sought at least six seats for the Lok Sabha polls. But the BJP is not willing to give up more than four seats for the JDS.
