New sub variant of COVID JN.1 is more infectious and spreading rapidly, but it has not caused any serious harm. Former Delhi AIIMS director Randeep Guleria said this on Saturday. He added that the new variant is slowly taking precedence.

Guleria further told the news agency, "It is slowly taking precedence in america, europe and in India also we are seeing more people infected with it. He adds that the symptoms of infection with this sub variant are fever, cough, running nose, sore throat, tingling and sore throat.

The first case of infection of JN.1 was detected in Kerala in India. A 79-year-old woman from Kerala was first infected with this sub variant.

According to the health ministry, 656 people have been infected with corona in the country from Saturday to 8 am on Sunday.  As a result, the number of active COVID patients in the country has increased to 3,742.

Kerala alone has reported 128 cases at this time. Meanwhile, 104 people in Karnataka have contracted the infection during this period.
