RSS Baithak : Focus On Gen-Z, Coordination with Affiliates

Key leaders from 32 RSS-linked organizations are meeting to tackle critical issues like demographic imbalance and youth drug abuse

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s three-day Akhil Bharatiya Samanvay Baithak (All India Coordination Meeting) began in Gudilova, near Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr. Mohan Bhagwat and General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale kicked off this prominent national event. More than 327 delegates—including leaders from 32 RSS-aligned groups such as the BJP, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Vishva Hindu Parishad, and ABVP—gathered to tackle major national, social, and policy challenges. All the key leaders belonging to the 32 RSS-affiliated organizations are holding a high-level coordination meeting to address pressing social challenges. The brainstorming sessions will primarily focus on critical issues like demographic imbalances and the rising drug abuse among youth. First time BJP National Chief Nitin Nabin also present in this baithak.

Bhagwat’s Opening Address: Key Points

While this gathering centers on exchanging ideas rather than making top-down decisions, Bhagwat’s speech set the tone for the entire event—mapping out a vision built on resilience for the nation and society. He focused heavily on India’s Gen-Z and youth, urging that their mindset should sync with indigenous values. For Bhagwat, real progress isn’t just about growing the economy; it’s also about building social equity and well-being within communities. He insisted that citizens go beyond demanding rights and make civic duty a habit—arguing that responsible citizenship supports stable, nationwide progress. Bhagwat also highlighted how the Sangh’s influence is rapidly expanding, especially among young people signing up through the 'Join RSS' platform.

What’s on the Agenda? The Core Issues

Throughout the meeting, RSS leaders and affiliates are working their way through what they call ‘Panch Parivartan’—a five-layered social transition agenda. The main topics include:

Demographic Imbalance: Assessing areas that are seeing dramatic shifts in population, and how these changes reshape local communities socially and politically.

Nasha Mukti (Youth De-addiction): Setting up local networks to fight the growing danger of drugs among young people.

Social Harmony (Samajik Samrasata): Breaking down caste and communal divides to strengthen social unity.

Family Values & Eco-friendly Living: Rebuilding the importance of traditional family ties while promoting environmental awareness at home.

Looking Ahead: The RSS Visakha Roadmap

This meeting comes as the RSS steps into its centenary phase and aims to set a course for all its affiliates. There’s a clear focus:

Bharatiya Development Model: Creating a development plan that balances the economy, cultural awareness, and agricultural well-being.

Grassroots Synergy: Making sure the BJP, BMS, VHP, and other affiliated groups work together seamlessly on welfare initiatives.

Reaching Urban Youth and Gen Z: Using digital platforms to engage the growing number of young professionals who are joining the organization.

The Proposed Bharatiya Development Model tries to weave together economic growth, cultural identity, and rural development. It’s a push to make sure social welfare and policy aren’t handled by disconnected arms, but as part of a coordinated effort—aligning the political, labor, and student wings. Digital outreach stands out here, too, as the Sangh works to attract and hold the attention of a new generation.

Why Does the Visakha Baithak Matter?

Holding this huge meet in Coastal Andhra isn’t random. Strategically, the Sangh wants to plant deeper roots in the southern states. By spotlighting universal, non-political problems—think narcotics or environmental issues—the RSS reaches beyond its usual voter base, pushing for broader public acceptance. Designing the "Bharatiya Development Model" is more than just a program on paper. It’s a play to put the Sangh’s ideology on the national policy map. Through its network of affiliates, the RSS shapes policy from the ground up, making sure that economic advances stay tied to cultural values and social unity as India moves forward.
