Pan India movie "Pushpa - The Rise" Hero Allu Arjun made history by winning the National Award as Best Actor for his outstanding performance. He became the first Telugu actor to ever receive this prestigious award in the Best Actor category in 69the National Film Awards ceremony held in New Delhi. This achievement is marked a significant milestone for more than 100 years of Tollywood industry. Allu Arjun created a sensation by achieving a rare feat that even more than three dozens of heroes and more than of 100 familiar actors could not achieve in Telugu cinema with a history of decades.
The 69th National Awards ceremony was held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. President Draupadi Murmu presented the awards. Allu Arjun received the National Best Actor Award for his performance in the box office record-breaking movie “Pushpa – The Rise”.
Known as Bunny in the Telugu film industry, Allu Arjun is a grandson of the famous comedian Allu Ramalingaiah, the son of film producer Arvind, and the nephew of the megastar Chiranjeevi. He began his career as a child artist in 1985. Bunny's debut as a lead role came with the film Director Raghavendra Rao's "Gangotri in 2003. Within the period of two decades he acted number of hit movies and transformed into a pan-Indian actor, with the blockbuster film "Pushpa - The Rise". Movie was released in 2021, his role was portrays the character Pushpa Raj, a labour who rises to lead a Red Sandal smuggling syndicate.

Producer Naveen Erneni and director S. Buchibabu received the national award for “Uppena” movie which was selected as the best regional film. Prem Rakshit won best choreographer for the RRR movie’s “Natu Natu” song. Also Music Directors MM Keeravani and Devi Sri Prasad received awards.
Tollywood’s sensational pan India movie “RRR” was chosen as the best entertaining and popular movie and the director SS Rajamouli received the award from the President of India. Best Action Direction (Stunt Choreography) – King Salmon (RRR), Best Choreography – Prem Rakshit (RRR), Best Special Effects – V. Srinivas Mohan (RRR), Best Music Director (Background score) – MM Keeravani (RRR), Best Playback Singer (Male) – Kala Bhairava (Komuram Bhimudo.. – RRR) received awards in respective categories. Meanwhile, Best Actress Award shared by Alia Bhat, Kriti Sanon.. these two heroines also received award in the grand event held at Rastrapathi Bhavan.
