Netflix may give its streaming service for free

A free, advertisement-supported version might be offered by Netflix. In fact, the company is doing it to establish its strong hold in the international market. Speaking about Netflix's strategy, the company's chief content officer hinted that and said that such an offer could also be made very soon.

There has been a debate over Netflix subscriptions for a long time. Now the company can come up with a subscription plan that allows users to watch movies or other content for free. Advertisements will be shown on the platform in the middle of OTT. That means the company will generate revenue from advertising, which until now the company used to sell subscriptions to.

Netflix currently has 270 million subscribers. But now the number of subscribers has decreased rapidly. Its cost is constantly increasing. Now this step is being taken by Netflix to maintain this. There are many users who are hesitant to purchase a subscription, and the company wants to come up with a plan for users who can benefit the company as well.

Netflix may take this decision to increase the number of users. The company is going to open the range of movies and web series on their platform to every user. According to informed sources, it can be a masterstroke for Netflix to not only increase the user base but also to survive in the OTT competition.

At the moment, there are a lot of TV shows at the regional level that are broadcast to the audience for free. Netflix can challenge those TV shows. But now the question is: will this service be launched in India? Currently, the price of the Netflix Basic mobile subscription in the country is Rs. 149, and the premium subscription price starts at Rs. 649.

In the initial phase, the free subscription model may be launched in Asian and European countries. The company can launch an ad-based, free subscription model there. Advertisements will be shown on the platform in the middle of OTT. According to media reports, this move will help increase the viewership of Netflix. And if viewership increases, Netflix's revenue will increase.

Although Netflix's free model practice has started in the tech circle, the company has not yet officially said anything. However, many are hoping that Netflix has a large user base in India. So Indians will also get new services. Currently, Netflix's rivals in India are Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime, ZEE5, and Sony LIV.
