In anticipation of the upcoming assembly elections, the Congress party has called a crucial meeting today in New Delhi to discuss and strategize its preparations.

Rajesh Thakur, speaking to the media, disclosed that the Congress leadership has convened to ensure meticulous planning for the upcoming assembly elections. Leaders from the state unit will convene on July 2 to collectively chart the party's electoral course.

Currently, Congress is preparing to contest the same number of seats as in the previous elections. Additionally, the party is actively pursuing candidacy on two additional seats. These seats include Poreyahat constituency, where MLA Pradeep Yadav has recently joined Congress, and Mandu constituency in Hazaribagh.

The defection of BJP MLA Jayprakash Bhai Patel from Hazaribagh to Congress has bolstered the party's prospects in these constituencies. The party has commenced the deliberation process regarding the selection of candidates across all constituencies.

As the assembly elections draw nearer, Congress is steadfast in its efforts to consolidate its position and present a formidable challenge to its competitors.
