Home Minister Amit Shah Arrives in Agartala for Election Rallies

Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at the Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport in Agartala on Sunday night aboard a special flight, touching down at 9 pm. Following his arrival, the senior BJP leader proceeded to check into a private hotel located on the outskirts of the city, where he will be accommodated for the night. His itinerary includes addressing election rallies in Tripura and Manipur on the following day.

Kumarghat falls within the East Tripura Parliamentary constituency, which is designated for tribal candidates. After his engagements in Tripura, Shah is slated to travel to Imphal for another election rally. During his visit to Manipur, the Union home minister is expected to hold meetings with Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, as well as Manipur BJP president A Sharda Devi, along with other party officials.

Simultaneously, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver a rally at the Swami Vivekananda Maidan in Agartala on April 17.

In terms of parliamentary representation, Tripura comprises two constituencies – West Tripura and East Tripura. The polling for the first seat is scheduled for April 19, while the second seat will undergo voting on April 26.
