CM Siddaramaiah Appears Before Lokayukta in MUDA Case

The investigation also touched on the involvement of his son, Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, who reportedly attended meetings linked to the plot allocations

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah appeared before the Mysuru Lokayukta on Wednesday, answering inquiries about the contentious allocation of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites to his wife, Parvathi Siddaramaiah.

Arriving at the Lokayukta office discreetly in a private vehicle, Siddaramaiah faces scrutiny as the primary accused in a case that claims power misuse in the allotment of MUDA plots under the 50:50 scheme. This scheme saw 14 sites in Vijayanagar allotted to Parvathi, raising questions about potential procedural improprieties.

According to sources, the Lokayukta prepared 20 focused questions to address specific aspects of the allotment process, examining if Siddaramaiah’s role influenced the approval of these plots. Among the inquiries, the Chief Minister was asked about any direct engagement with the MUDA Commissioner during the allocation and whether he had prior knowledge of his wife’s land acquisition.

The investigation also touched on the involvement of his son, Dr. Yathindra Siddaramaiah, who reportedly attended meetings linked to the plot allocations. Additionally, Siddaramaiah was questioned on comments he made during a recent press conference, where he defended the allotments amid allegations of financial impropriety, including accusations of a Rs 65 crore demand.

The Lokayukta investigation was initiated by a court order following a complaint by activist Snehamayi Krishna, aimed at uncovering any misuse of authority or procedural violations.
