Debashish awarded with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Youth Award

Guru Shingar Mani Shri Debasish Pattnaik is a prominent Odissi exponent and international Odissi dancer, who has completed Nrutyabhaskar (MA in dance) and is a Gold Medalist. Odissi dance is his passion which he has been pursuing for the last 29 yrs. under the late Guru Shri Kashinath Roul and for the last 18 yrs he has been learning under the expert guidance of GURU SHRI DURGA CHARAN RANBIR.

He is a research scholar on Odissi dance under Prachin Kala Kendra, Chandigarh and a recipient of the senior scholarship from Dept. of Culture, Government of India. He is an 'A' Grade artist of Doordarshan Kendra Delhi, ICCR empanelled artist by Ministry of Culture and has done junior fellowship under Govt. of India. He has been awarded Shingar Mani title by honourable former president of India Smt. Pratibha Patil, Jaydev Puraskar by Govt. of Odisha, Nritya Bharati award, Guru Shisya Parampara award and had been invited to perform in front of Lord Sri Satya Sai Baba at Puttaparthi.

He has performed in various prestigious festivals overseas in more than 55 countries. In India he has performed at the 3rd International Odissi festival at New Delhi and Bhubaneswar, Debdashi national dance festival, SNA award ceremony New Delhi, Mukteswar festival, Puri beach festival and Sur Sringar.

On the International platform he has performed in Brickfield,Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Russia, Moscow, Kazakhstan, Israel ,Tashkent, UFA, Yugoslavia, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Germany, Spain, Madrid, Lisbon, Frankfurt Portugal, Madera, Munich, Japan, South Korea, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam and so on. He was a visiting faculty for 14 months in Ho Chi Minh, RIMT (University Vietnam). In July 2023, he went on a dance tour to the USA where he performed in various states across the country and very recently also visited Sri Lanka for a performance at the Indian Embassy of Srilanka and the Vivekanand Cultural Center in Colombo.
