BharatPe co-founder Ashneer Grover has apologised for his social media post on BharatPay. Ashneer Grover Grover on Tuesday tendered an apology in the Delhi High Court. The high court, however, imposed a fine of Rs 2 lakh on Grover for his derogatory post.

Court also added that he had violated the court's earlier order and that his conduct was not satisfactory. It may be recalled that in May last year; the high court directed both Grover and Bharatpe not to use any unparliamentary or defamatory language about each other.

Later, Bharatpe filed a fresh petition in the Delhi High Court, saying Ashneer’s Grover had posted on social media using derogatory language against the company. Bharatpe says Grover is a habitual offender and has not followed the court's order. 

Meanwhile, during the hearing, Ashneer Grover Grover's lawyer, Giriraj Singh, said Grover had apologised to the court and filed an affidavit stating that he would not disobey the court's order in the future. Giriraj Singh says Grover has also deleted his tweets.

 Advocate Akhil Sibal, appearing for Bharatpe, said during the hearing that there was a lot of delay in deleting the tweet by Grover. On the other hand, by the time the tweet was deleted, the media was reporting on it, due to which the company suffered losses.
