On the final day of filing papers on Wednesday, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu and four other BJP candidates got to be elected as MLAs without facing any opposition because no other candidate had submitted a nomination from their assembly seats. 

Together with the Lok Sabha elections, Arunachal Pradesh will also have assembly elections. On April 19, votes will be cast for the 60-member assembly as well as for the two Lok Sabha seats representing Arunachal West and East.

It is being said that the opposition Congress party is only running for a few seats in the forthcoming assembly elections, which is scheduled for April 19, suggesting that the BJP is enjoying a relatively easy road to victory in Arunachal Pradesh.

 In addition, fifteen candidates will compete for the state's two Lok Sabha seats. The nomination papers are being examined, and the deadline for withdrawing is March 30. The results of the Lok Sabha election will be announced on June 4, and the Assembly polls' vote counting will occur on June 2.
