Maratha protesters reached at Rama Hotel to meet Sharad Pawar

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar visited Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, where Maratha community protesters have become aggressive. The protesters have warned of protests if they do not meet Sharad Pawar, due to which police security was also increased. Despite attempts to calm the protestors, they remain firm in their stand. A meeting was held between the protesters and Sharad Pawar at the Rama Hotel, where they discussed the Maratha reservation issue.

Sharad Pawar and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also met earlier to discuss the Maratha-OBC rift. Before this meeting, NCP party leader Chhagan Bhujbal also requested Sharad Pawar to mediate on the Maratha reservation issue, as the atmosphere in Maharashtra has deteriorated due to the reservation issue. Sharad Pawar agreed for an all-party meeting in this regard.

The Maratha protesters claimed that Sharad Pawar promised everyone to find a solution and that they are ready if the government decides to give reservations to the Maratha community from OBC. They also suggested a discussion between the government, opposition, Jarange Patil, and OBC. Sharad Pawar said that this discussion should be held live.
