Manipur CM and Assam CM Sarma Discuss Security Concerns

Chief Minister N. Biren Singh of Manipur and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma met in Guwahati to address the escalating security concerns in Jiribam, Manipur, and Cachar, Assam. This crucial meeting aimed to enhance coordination between the two states' police forces to combat militant activities along the border and prevent ethnic violence from spilling over.

Following recent violent incidents in Jiribam, many residents have sought refuge in Assam, intensifying the need for a collaborative approach to ensure safety and peace. Chief Minister Singh, along with senior minister L. Susindro Singh, traveled to Guwahati to discuss these urgent issues.

Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma has been proactive in maintaining peace in Cachar, instructing officials to provide humanitarian aid to displaced individuals and ensuring tranquility in the region. His administration has demonstrated a commitment to stability and support for those affected by the unrest.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah organized a high-level meeting to tackle the security issues in Manipur.. Attended by top officials, including the Chief of Army Staff and the Director General of Assam Rifles, the meeting underscored the need for increased central forces' deployment to restore order. Shah emphasized the importance of preventing further violence and ensuring the well-being of those in relief camps.
