Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, stated during a press conference held in Guwahati on Monday that the state government had decided to maintain the Army and NDRF ready to handle any emergency due to the current circumstances.

There will be a lot of rain during the next two to three days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and Meteorological Centre (RMC). Floods have been brought on by Arunachal Pradesh's heavy rains, according to Sarma.

Sarma added by stating that he received calls from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who promised to assist him in handling the situation.

It is to be noted that the Kaziranga National Park has been severely damaged by flooding, and the park is currently experiencing the worst of the effects. 95 out of 233 forest camps have been submerged as a result of the dire circumstances that have arisen. In order to stop more damage, six camps had to be evacuated.

Elephants are trying to cross the National Highway-715 in search of higher land in Karbi Anglong in an attempt to flee this natural disaster. To avoid traffic accidents, the park authorities have so asked for a diversion of traffic along the NH 715 stretch that passes beneath the districts of Nagaon and Golaghat. The authority stated that the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) has been issued in Section 144.

A number of preventative actions have been made, such as deploying boats, barricades, veterinary units, standby rescue teams, and vital supplies. Additionally, while forest teams and commando squads patrol together, animal sensors have also been installed.
