After winning the Lok Sabha elections recently, Prime Minister Modi will accept the invitation of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and attend the G7 Summit to be held in Borgo Egnazia, Apulia from June 13 to June 15.

In a statement released by the Ministry of External Affairs, Modi expressed gratitude to Italian Prime Minister Meloni for extending an invitation to him to attend the G7 Summit's extended session in Puglia. Alongside other G7 leaders, Prime Minister Modi will have bilateral discussions with US President Joe Biden during the event.

Currently, Italy holds the presidency of the G7 and is joined by Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union as guests. Global topics including the Israel-Hamas conflict, the Russia-Ukraine war, international trade, climate change, and the world economic environment will be emphasized during the summit.

In addition to attending the G7 Summit, PM Modi has received an invitation to the 'Summit of Peace in Ukraine' that will take place in Burgenstock, Switzerland on June 15–16. Still, since Russia a major actor in the conflict won’t be there, it is unclear how likely it is that he will attend.
