J.D. Vance's victory : Telugu Origin Usha To Become Second Lady

After Donald Trump's victory, J.D. Vance's Vice-President elect, and Andhra Alludu's son-in-law's appointment as US Vice President are exciting news for Indians and Telugu people.

The news of Donald Trump's victory is definitely interesting for Indians. As well, J.D. Vance's victory as the Vice-President elect is more exciting news for us. The news that ‘Andhra Alludu’ (Andhra's son-in-law) is going to act as the Vice President of the United States is very impressive to the Telugu people. JD Vance's victory is a historic moment and moment of pride for Tulugus. Usha Chilukuri, aged 38, wife of Vance is set to become the first non-white and first Indian-American Second Lady of US. Her family immigrated abroad 50 years ago. Indians and media highlight Usha's Telugu roots after Indian-American leader Kamala Harris loses President Election. 

Ever since Donald Trump chose JD Vance as the Ohio State Senator as the Vice Presidential candidate, Usha's name has been buzzing not only in the Telugu States but also in United States of America.

Telugu Roots

Advocate and Corporate Litigator Usha Chilukuri had Telugu roots, but born and brought up in America. Her ancestors hail from Vadalur village near Pamarru in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh. Her parents Radhakrishna and Lakshmi migrated to America in 1980s. Usha is one of their three children. Her mother Lakshmi is an academician and research scholar in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry subjects. Currently serving as a Professor, she holds a key position at the University of San Diego. Usha’s Father Radhakrishna is known to all as Krish Chilukuri, works as an Aerospace Engineer in California State.

However, Usha Chilkuri was born and raised in San Diego, California. She finished her bachelor's degree in History from Yale University, and completed her Master's degree in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. At the beginning of her career, she worked in legal department for a long time. She also served as junior under former Supreme Court judges Justice John Roberts and Justice Brett Kevanagh. Usha has a strong academic background and worked as Managing Editor of Law and Tech Journal and Executive Development Editor of Yale Law Journal at Yale University. Later she moves to Cambridge University on a Gates Fellowship. There she worked with left-wing and liberal groups.

Love with Vance

Usha Chilukuri and JD Vance first met at Yale Law School in 2013, they liked each other. In 2014, both convinced the elders and get married in Kentucky. It is a special thing that their marriage takes place as per the Hindu traditions. They have three children, daughter Mirabel, sons Ivan and Vivek.

Usha played a vital role in her husband's success. Politically, she stood by him in many matters. Usha played a key role in the campaign while Vance contesting for the Ohio Senator.

Usha will act as the second lady on behalf of the Republicans. It is noteworthy that she registered as a Democratic Party worker in 2014. After that, she followed her husband in politics, joined in Republican Party.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu congratulated JD Vance, the running mate of Donald Trump, on his historic victory as the US Vice President-elect. The Victory marks a significant milestone for Vance's wife, Usha Chilukuri Vance, as well, who will become the first woman of Telugu heritage to serve as the Second Lady of the US.
