After overcoming a quadriceps injury, hitter KL Rahul is anticipated to play in the fourth Test against England, which begins on February 23 in Ranchi.
Rahul, who missed the second and third Tests because of pain in his right quadriceps, was 90 percent fit last week, a source said.
A BCCI insider stated, "He is getting close to match fitness and should be available for the Ranchi Test."
In Hyderabad for the opening Test match of the year, Rahul was among India's best batsmen until he was hampered by the same injury he suffered during the Indian Premier League.
Rahul has given India excellent performances in all formats after a four-month hiatus.
