Virat Kohli's birthday is November 5. On the same day, the India-South Africa match will be played at Eden. So arrangements were made so that 67,000 spectators at Eden could celebrate the birthday of their favourite cricketer on the field. It was decided that the audience would be given masks. Virat will cut a cake on the front lawn of the clubhouse. That was the plan. However, the BCCI has ordered the cancellation of all plans. The BCCI has made it clear that Virat Kohli's birthday will not be celebrated during the World Cup match.
Former India captain Virat Kohli will cut a birthday cake at Eden Gardens before the ODI against South Africa. Cab had planned to arrange a special cake for Kohli before the ODI World Cup match against South Africa. Even Virat's mask will be given to the stadium crowd. When Virat cuts the cake, the audience will wear it.
But CAB's plan to celebrate Virat Kohli's birthday was thwarted. The BCCI has said that Virat's birthday will not be celebrated during the World Cup match. Only cakes and special mementos can be given to Virat Kohli. However, it cannot be a separate cake-cutting ceremony. Cab can only send cakes and mementos to the dressing room if they want. Cab officials had planned to make Virat's mask for the audience. And happy birthdays will be written through fireworks. Both of these plans had to be scrapped because they didn't get permission. However, only fireworks can be provided.
Mask branding has a conflict of interest, so it's cancelled. If the entire gallery is full of celebrations, there will be problems with the marketing of the World Cup broadcaster. The BCCI is reluctant to give permission, keeping in mind the sponsors. And the governing body of Indian cricket is not in favour of exaggerating the birthday of one person in the middle of the World Cup. The first plan was to give a cake to every visitor. However, the plan was scrapped by the police. Because if a spectator throws the cake in the field, there will be another disaster!
Virat Kohli's birthday will be celebrated by the entire country. However, all the CAB plans have been cancelled for now. Eden may not be able to congratulate the Indian cricket legend on his birthday!
But in the meantime, the issue of matches has to be given a different focus. Because in that match, India will face South Africa, who have been outstanding in this tournament. In terms of their batting, almost all the teams have been in trouble in this tournament. However, the two matches that have been played behind Eden so far have shown that there is extra support for the bowlers. In such a situation, it is expected that the team that bowls well will win the match on that day.
