Indian cricket easily defeated the USA in the Twenty20 World Cup on Wednesday, 13 June 2024 at the Nassau County International Stadium. India had won the toss and choose to field

Suryakumar Yadav's half-century performance led India to a seven-wicket victory over the USA. India secured a win, advancing to the Super 8 round. Sherfane Rutherford scored an unbeaten 68 from 39 deliveries, while Suryakumar Yadav's 50 runs came off 49 balls that included two boundaries and two sixes.

Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube's partnership led India to a 7-wicket win against the USA, with Kohli and Sharma failing to score. The slow over rate penalty of 5 runs allowed India to progress to the Super 8s, making the match more challenging.

Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck as Saurabh Netravalkar scored early, leading India to a one-down lead in the first over. Netravalkar then sent Rohit back, leaving India at 10/2. Rishabh Pant was also dismissed by Ali Khan.

Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh led the Indian team with returned figures of 4-9, including two wickets in the first over. The best bowling figures by an Indian bowler in the tournament, helped India restrict the USA to 110 for 8. India faced initial difficulties in its chase as Saurabh Netravalkar continued his golden run for the Americans.

India's win confirmed India of a Super Eight spot as the side now has 6 points with a game to go in Group A. The win means that Pakistan's chances to qualify for the next stage is now completely dependent on the United States vs Ireland game on June 14. If the USA loses that game, Pakistan will have a clear chance of winning against Ireland and entering the Super Eight with four points to their credit. However, if the USA goes on to win the game, they will enter the next round with 6 points and Pakistan will be eliminated from the tournament as they can reach up to a maximum of four points.
