The IPL 2025 auction will be held in Jeddah on 24th and 25th November 2025. Earlier, the board announced the opening and final date of IPL. Not only that, unprecedentedly, the dates of the next three years have also been announced.
The board has never announced the dates of the three-year IPL together. They did not give a reason for announcing the date from 2025 to 2027. Jay Shah will take over as ICC chairman next month. That is, Jay has only a few days left as the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Before that, the announcement of the dates of the next three years of IPL is considered significant.
The IPL 2026 will be held from March 15 to May 31. IPL 2027 will be held from March 14 to May 30. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has sent an email to the 10 IPL franchises.
Like the last three seasons, there will be a total of 74 matches in the next IPL. However, at the time of the sale of IPL media rights, it was initially announced that the number of matches would be increased. Accordingly, 84 matches were scheduled in 2025 and 2026 and 94 matches in IPL 2027. As of now, 74 matches will be played in IPL 2025.
The IPL auction is scheduled for November 24 and 25. In those two days, it will be decided which cricketers will play in which team for the next three years. After this big auction, there will be a mini auction for the next two years. Not many cricketers will be auctioned there. So each team will make a team with a target of three years. The board also announced the date of the IPL for three years.
