As the iPhone 16 launch approaches, leaks are flooding the internet, hinting at various features and design changes. Although Apple typically announces the launch date closer to the event, it is widely expected that the iPhone 16 series will debut in September 2024.

Leaked Design Changes

The iPhone 16 series is rumored to feature significant design changes, moving away from traditional physical buttons to capacitive, touch-sensitive ones. This innovation, powered by Apple's Taptic Engine, was expected for the iPhone 15 series but faced technical delays.

Camera-wise, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus might sport a vertical camera array in a pill-shaped module, housing wide and ultrawide lenses. This design could support Spatial Video recording, a feature previously exclusive to high-end models. Additionally, a new dedicated Capture button and an Action button might be standard across all iPhone 16 variants. The punch-hole display design and USB Type-C port are expected to remain consistent with the iPhone 15 series.

Display Upgrades

The iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are tipped to feature larger 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens, respectively, with thinner bezels. The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to retain their 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch screen sizes but may see a significant upgrade to a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smoother animations and interactions.

Performance Enhancements

The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are expected to use the A18 SoC, whereas the Pro models are likely to be equipped with the more advanced A18 Pro chip.  Rumors suggest the Pro models could incorporate graphene pads for better heat dissipation.

Battery and Charging Improvements

Leaks indicate the iPhone 16 could feature a 3,561mAh battery, and the iPhone 16 Plus might come with a 4,006mAh unit. The iPhone 16 Pro Max is rumored to include a larger 4,676mAh battery.

Camera Upgrades

The iPhone 16 Pro Max might boast a super telephoto periscope camera for enhanced optical zoom, while the Pro models could receive a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide lens for improved low-light performance and detailed shots. Apple is also reportedly working on new anti-reflective optical coating technology to enhance image quality. While these details are based on leaks, they offer an exciting glimpse into what the iPhone 16 series might bring.
