
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took a holy dip at the Mahakumbh Mela. Yogi took a holy bath with the ministers. However, before that, an important cabinet meeting was held in Prayagraj.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressed the state government's commitment to progress and innovation after a cabinet meeting in Prayagraj on Wednesday. He held a press conference after the meeting. The Chief Minister has announced several influential decisions aimed at strengthening the state's healthcare and urban infrastructure. He also said that under the PPP (public-private partnership) model, medical colleges will be allowed to be built in Hathras, Baghpat, and Kasganj.
Apart from this, Chief Minister Yogi has also announced plans to provide free smartphones and tablets to the youth of the state. He also announced the decision to issue municipal bonds for Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra municipal corporations. Bonds for these three places will be issued after successful bond issuance in Lucknow and Ghaziabad. These bonds are expected to generate funds to improve urban infrastructure and ensure growth in these cities.
Addressing a press conference, Yogi said that various development issues, including space, defence, and employment policy 2024, were discussed. The policy, initially launched in 2018, is now being revised after five years to accommodate the growing demand. He also talked about FDI investment in the state with an emphasis on investing Rs 10,000 crore in Mirzapur and Moradabad.
The chief minister also highlighted his future infrastructure projects, including the extension of the Ganga Motorway, which will be connected to the Purvanchal Motorway and the national highway connecting Chandauli to Sonbhadra. He stressed that efforts are on to tackle the traffic management issues that exist in Prayagraj. Efforts are underway to connect Lucknow and Rae Bareli with Prayagraj under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
After the meeting, the entire cabinet went on a motorboat from Arail VIP Ghat to Sangam. At the confluence, Chief Minister Yogi, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and other cabinet members performed rituals and took a holy bath. Earlier in 2019, during the Kumbh Mela, Yogi had similarly taken a holy dip with ministers.
