All is not well in the current seat-sharing agreement between the Congress-led I-N-D-I-A Bloc and the Trinamool Congress. The TMC has decided to contest alone in the next Lok Sabha elections in Assam. TMC condemned Congress for making "unreasonable" demands in the seat-sharing agreement.

Even if the united opposition in Assam does not support the Trinamool Congress, the latter has decided to go solo.  Ripun Bora, the party's state president, stated this at a Trinamool Congress party gathering in Guwahati on Wednesday.

Commenting on the alliance with the  united opposition, Assam, Ripun Bora said, "There is no alliance with us yet. There has been no positive response from the Congress. The alliance is uncertain”.

Along with Ripun Bora, Rajya Sabha MP and All India Trinamool Congress leader Sushmita Dev was also present. Sushmita Dev said, "Mamata didi has asked us to contest elections alone and we will fight alone”.

Dev claimed that the Assam Congress is governed by the BJP and that all of the state's opposition leaders support the party. "We shall fight for the people of Assam. "Our fight will be for people's rights, not for power," she stated.
