The movie "Razakar - Silent Genocide of Hyderabad" is gearing up to influence the voters in Telangana assembly elections in November or December 2023. The recently released motion poster and trailers are creating a stir in the state politics. This is because BJP leaders are behind the making of this movie. Guduru Narayana Reddy, a key leader of Telangana BJP, is producing this film under Samaraveer Creation banner. Yata Satyanarayana is handling the story, screenplay and direction.
Does Bandi Sanjay encourage movie team?:
With the participation of senior BJP leader, former Maharashtra Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao, former state BJP president, Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar in the poster release program held recently in Hyderabad, the talk that there is a political agenda behind this movie gained momentum. Bandi Sanjay has said openly on many occasions that he will make the movie "Patabasti Files"(Old City Files) and "Razakar Files". There was a talk in Tollywood circles that this movie announced by Bandi Sanjay will be directed by RRR movie director SS Rajamouli. Also, there is a rumor that Rajamouli's father Koduri Venkata Vijayendra Prasad (BJP Rajyasabha Member) has done some work on the story of Razakar. But for now, the movie "Razakar" is being made under the direction of Yata Satyanarayana with the financial support of Guduru Narayana Reddy.
Apart from whether the film is actually being made to fulfill BJP's political interests or not, the plot of the film is certainly interesting and even more controversial. Along with Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam languages are being produced simultaneously.
Inspiration is Kashmir files & Kerala story:
Similar to "Razakar", two other films released in the meantime also caused controversy. One of them is "The Kerala Story". This movie, directed by Sudipto Sen, created a rift between the Congress and the BJP during the Karnataka assembly elections. The plot of the movie is about the forced conversion of thousands of women from Kerala to Islam and joining the extremist Islamic State of Iraq and Syria organization. Ditto "The Kashmir Files". In this film directed by Vivek Agnihotri, the deeds of Pakistani sponsored terrorists who massacred Kashmiri Hindus were brought to the silver screen. Same kind of sorrow and drama can be expected in the "Razakar" movie. All these three movies have a common point. That is the angle of religion.
Cruelty of Nizam’s private army:
The plot of the movie "Razakar" is based on the carnage created in Telangana by the Razakars, a private army during the Nizam's royal rule. The movie poster has raised eyebrows in the hearts of so-called historians who compare the Nizam's rule with a golden age. Because - the poster shows a Brahmin boy with a traditional outfit hanging from the tip of a country made gun. The massacre by the Razakar gangs in Nizam's rule needs no more living evidence than this poster! I don't know if it will be mentioned in the story of the movie or not, but some incidents that have gone down in history as living proofs of the bloodlust of Razakars should be remembered. There are many such horrible incidents which the people of Telangana will never forget.
Nazism of Nizam:
At a time when the whole country got independence on August 15, 1947 and people were living freely, the city of Hyderabad was still under the despotic rule of the Nazi-like Nizam. Even after the independence of India, riots were raging in the districts of Telangana. One of those brutal criminal action experiences by Bhairanpalli. Actually revolt of villagers was a heroic story. The people’s movement against the Nizam's autocracy raises between1947-48 created history. But it ended with bloody tears of thousands of innocents. Even though, Bhaironpalli revolt is a history that needs to be written in golden letters to be remembered by coming generations.
Bhairanpally's heroic fight against the Razakars:
1948 August 27…. 1200 armed Nizam's soldiers and Razakars raided Bhairanpally village. At a time, around 118 people were mercilessly shot. Atrocities were committed against women. Even children, old aged were shot mercilessly. This is genocide comparable to the Jallianwala Bagh incident in Amritsar.
History of blood-soaked Parakala:
1947 September 2… When the people of the surrounding villages gathered to hoist the national flag at Parakala in Warangal district at that time, the Razakars committed atrocities and created bloodshed. The massacre in which 22 people were martyred together is just one example of the atrocities committed by the Razakars.
Cruelty of Qasim Razvi:
This generation may not know who these cruel Razakars are! Even those in their forties and fifties are not having so clear idea. But, in many villages in districts like Nalgonda, Warangal, Karimnagar and Medak, traces of Razakar's deeds can still be seen. Scars from seeing those bloodbaths can still be seen here and there. The bitter truths that have not gone down in history are heard by us whenever we knock on the door of any Telangana village. The Razakars were the Nizam's own private army formed by the Qasim Razvi. Erstwhile Nizam sansthan was included eight districts of Telangana, five districts of Maharashtra and three districts of Karnataka under Hyderabad State.
The Majlis Ittehadul Muslimin, established in 1938 by Bahadur Yar Jung during the reign of the seventh Nizam (who was the last Nawab) Mir Usman Ali Khan Asaf Jahi, gradually transformed into a voluntary army of razakars. Although the country was freed from the British rulers, the Nizam's kingdom was not merged until 1948. They tried to be an independent. Peasant struggles were already going on in the villages of Telangana against the Nizam's regime. Communist movements were formed. Then Nizam deployed the Razakars to quell the public unrest. In 1948, the Nizam had to surrender with the "Operation Polo" military action undertaken under the personal supervision of the then Union Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The world came to know who Razakar was during the merger of Hyderabad State with India through Operation Polo. After this merger, Qasim Razvi surrendered and spent some time in jail. After that, he fled away to Pakistan. If we go into the depths of the history of Razakars, cruel and heart broking stories will emerge. The blood shed of the Razakars ended on September 17, 1948.
Campaigning “Astra” for Elections:
The movie "Razakar - Silent Genocide of Hyderabad" is being made to mirror such bloody history. If we go in to the back, a Marathi movie was released in 2014 with a similar plot. Raj Durge directed the movie "Razzakar" produced by Satish Pilangwad. The same Marathi film was dubbed into Telugu by Rajamouli under the banner of Mouli Films in 2018 under the title "Naijam Sarkaroda". Now the film "Razakar - Silent Genocide of Hyderabad" is coming under the direction of Guduru Narayana Reddy under the banner of Samaraveer Creation. This is an attempt to inform the next generation of the true nature of Nizam’s private army Razakars. What is even more important is that the film is being made as a political campaigning “Brahmastra” to turn the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections into a battleground.
