On December 30, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to launch two "Amrit Bharat Express" trains. The first train will depart from Delhi and go via Ayodhya to Darbhanga, in Bihar. He explained to the reporters  that push-pull technology is the foundation of the train. He went on to say that the push-pull mechanism will improve the train's acceleration.

The Railway Minister also stated that numerous modifications had been made to train restroom designs to encourage the least amount of water use possible. He also mentioned that Amrit Bharat trains and Vande Bharat trains will soon incorporate technology that is manufactured in India.

The Amrit Bharat Express, formerly known as Vande Sadharan, features locomotives with aerodynamic designs reminiscent of the Vande Bharat. This non-AC Sleeper Cum Unreserved Class service is intended to cover greater distances at a lower cost. The proposed night fast train services will link Indian cities that are more than 800 km apart or would take more than 10 hours to reach using current transportation options.

On December 18, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the second Vande Bharat Express, which runs between Varanasi and New Delhi. The PM launched the Dohrighat-Mau MEMU train, the Varanasi-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express, and two Long Haul freight trains at the recently opened Dedicated Freight Corridor. The 10,000th locomotive produced by Banaras Locomotive Works was the event's high point.
