PM Modi to Attend Chandrababu's Swearing-In Grand Event on June 12

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Supreme and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister- designate Nara Chandrababu Naidu will be sworn in at 11.27 am on June 12 near Kesarapalli IT Park at Gannavaram in Krishna district. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other top leaders are expected to be present at the oath-taking program. PM Modi’s participation is seen as a big boost for Chandrababu Naidu, who led the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to a landslide victory in the state.

The Governor S. Abdul Nazeer will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Chandrababu Naidu and his Council of Ministers. Chandrababu will be sworn in as the Chief Minister for a fourth time - and the second as the Chief Minister of the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh. He served as Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh between 1995 and 2004 and after the state's bifurcation served as the Chief Minister of the residuary state from 2014 to 2019.

PM Modi to Attend Naidu's Swearing-In:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be attending the oath-taking ceremony of Nara Chandrababu Naidu-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government.  As per the tentative schedule, the Prime Minister will land at Gannavaram Airport from Delhi at 10.40 a.m. He will then proceed to the nearby IT Park and participate in the swearing-in ceremony from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. The Prime Minister will leave for Bhubaneswar at 12.45 p.m.

Foolproof Arrangements for the Ceremony:

Arrangements are in full swing for the swearing-in ceremony of new government.  Nearly one lakh people are likely to attend the public meeting. The rank and files of the Telugu Desam, who were on cloud nine with the party’s landslide victory, are gearing up to make the swearing-in ceremony a grand event.

Kesarapalli Gets Decked up for Swearing in:

Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad took stock of the arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony in a meeting with top officials at his camp office in Vijayawada. He instructed the police to provide tight security as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governor S. Abdul Nazeer and a host of other VIPs from across the country would be attending the event. Also, he wanted adequate parking facilities to be created on Vijayawada International Airport premises, including for helicopters in which some of the VVIPs and VIPs would be reaching the venue. Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta and other top officials took part in the deliberations

Why the Venue is not in Amaravathi...?

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) had earlier planned to hold the swearing-in ceremony at Amaravati, but as a number of central leaders from the BJP and other parties have been invited and are expected to attend, the Gannavaram venue has been selected as it is close to the airport.

TDP and NDA Collaboration:

On June 11, the newly-elected TDP MLAs will meet at the party headquarters in Mangalagiri to elect Nara Chandrababu Naidu as their legislature party leader. The resolution will be sent to Governor S Abdul Nazeer the same evening.

The TDP-led NDA coalition with JSP and BJP won a landslide victory in the Assembly elections held on May 13, with the alliance winning 164 seats. The TDP alone won 135 seats, while the JSP won all 21 it contested and BJP won eight of the 10 it contested.
