Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for a series of development projects collectively valued at Rs 13,430 crore. These initiatives encompass various critical sectors, including industry, power transmission, transportation, railways, defense manufacturing, and energy. PM Modi addresses “Super GST - Super Savings” public meeting. Upon arrival, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan welcomed Prime Minister Modi.

A cornerstone of the visit was the foundation lying of the Transmission System Strengthening project at the Kurnool-III Pooling Station, with an investment exceeding Rs 2,880 crore. This project will feature a 765 KV double-circuit Kurnool-III Pooling Station-Chilakaluripeta transmission line, enhancing the transmission capacity by 6,000 MVA and facilitating large-scale renewable energy transmission to support national growth.

Additionally, foundations were laid for the Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool and the Kopparthy Industrial Area in Kadapa, representing a combined investment of over Rs 4,920 crore. Developed jointly by the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd (APIIC), these state-of-the-art industrial hubs are designed with modern features like plug-and-play infrastructure and walk-to-work conveniences. The hubs are expected to generate approximately one lakh jobs and attract investments worth Rs 21,000 crore, boosting industrial growth and economic competitiveness in the Rayalaseema region.

In connectivity, PM Modi initiated construction of a six-lane greenfield highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar at a cost exceeding Rs 960 crore. This project aims to decongest Visakhapatnam’s busy areas and improve trade and employment opportunities. The Prime Minister also inaugurated road development projects, including the four-laning of the Pileru-Kalur section, widening work along the Kadapa-Nellore border to CS Puram stretch, and a four-lane rail overbridge (ROB) between Gudivada and Nujella on NH-165. Other initiatives included the Kanigiri Bypass on NH-565 and improvements to sections bypassing N. Gundlapalli Town on NH-544DD.

In the railway sector, Modi launched projects worth over Rs 1,200 crore. These included laying the foundation for the Kothavalasa-Vizianagaram Fourth Railway Line and the Rail Flyover between Pendurthi and Simhachalam North. He also inaugurated key rail line enhancements like doubling the Kottavalasa-Boddavara section and the Shimiliguda-Gorapur section.

The energy sector received significant focus as well. The Srikakulam-Angul Natural Gas Pipeline by GAIL India Limited, built at a cost of approximately Rs 1,730 crore, was inaugurated. This pipeline spans 124 km in Andhra Pradesh and 298 km in Odisha. Furthermore, Modi inaugurated Indian Oil's LPG bottling plant at Chittoor, set up at a cost of Rs 200 crore with a capacity of 60 TMTPA (Thousand Metric Tonnes Per Annum). In advanced manufacturing, Bharat Electronics Limited's Advanced Night Vision Products Factory in Krishna district was also unveiled, an initiative backed by an investment of around Rs 360 crore.

Before these inaugurations and foundation ceremonies in Kurnool, PM Modi visited Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam at Srisailam in Nandyal district. This temple is one of the 12 Jyotirlings and one of the 52 Shakti Peeths. The Prime Minister was presented with the portraits and vestments of Sri Swami and Goddess Bhramaramba. Later, Mr Modi visited Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra in Srisailam to commemorate the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
