In a recent interview with Asianet News, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the growing disillusionment among Christians in Kerala towards the Congress-led UDF and the CPI(M)-led LDF, attributing it to what he described as the 'lies' propagated by these political factions. Modi emphasized the increasing confidence the Christian community has placed in the BJP, particularly evident in their support across various regions, including Goa and the northeastern states.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls in all 20 seats of Kerala on April 26, Modi expressed his assurance that the trust of the Christian community in the BJP has strengthened and reiterated the party's commitment to their well-being. The BJP's intensified efforts to court the community, influential in several Lok Sabha seats in Kerala, signify the party's aspirations to make significant inroads in a state where it has historically failed to secure any seats.

Responding to inquiries, Modi highlighted the BJP's governance in Goa, where Christians constitute a substantial demographic, as well as in the northeast, where the community holds sway in certain states and comprises significant numbers in others. He underscored the presence of several Christian chief ministers and ministers within BJP-ruled states, emphasizing his regular interactions with community leaders and his involvement in organizing Christmas festivities.

Addressing concerns relayed by community leaders from Kerala regarding the precarious situation of Church properties in the state under the governance of the LDF and UDF, Modi outlined his administration's proactive measures to assist them, particularly focusing on the needs of fishermen.

Furthermore, Modi condemned what he perceived as the deceptive practices of the Congress and the Left, the predominant political formations in Kerala, accusing them of misleading the populace. He also criticized the ruling Left front in Kerala for alleged financial improprieties in cooperative banks affiliated with Left groups, revealing that nearly Rs 1 lakh crore intended for the welfare of the state's underprivileged has been mismanaged.

Highlighting the intervention of the Enforcement Directorate in recovering misappropriated funds, Modi assured that his government is actively pursuing legal recourse to ensure restitution to the rightful beneficiaries.

In conclusion, Modi reiterated the widespread support garnered by his government, citing the electorate's ability to contrast his administration's performance with that of previous regimes as a deciding factor in their decision to grant the BJP another term at the Centre. This sentiment reflects the populace's recognition of Modi's leadership and their endorsement of his governance based on tangible achievements.
