He believes that the rights of poor Muslims, women, and children will be protected under the Waqf Act.

The prime minister used the Waqf Act as a weapon to question the opposition. "The politics of appeasement is not new. The seeds of this appeasement were sown at the time of independence. The two-nation theory was not the decision of ordinary Muslims. Congress got power through politics of appeasement. Some fundamentalist leaders got wealthy. But the question is, what did ordinary Muslims get? What did the poor Muslims get?

Prime minister said, "Poor Muslims have got illiteracy, and unemployment has increased. On the other hand, Muslim women have been subjected to injustice like Shahbanu. I congratulate the Parliament of the country for enacting this wonderful law (Waqf Act) in the interest of the entire society, in the interest of the Muslim community. Now the sacred spirit of the waqf will be protected. The rights of Muslims will also be protected by this law.

The Lok Sabha passed the Waqf (Amendment) Bill on Thursday. There were 288 votes in favor. There were 232 votes against. The Waqf (Amendment) Bill was passed by the Rajya Sabha on Friday after a debate that lasted for nearly 13 hours. There were 128 votes in favor. There were 95 votes against. Hours later, President Droupadi Murmu signed the bill. As a result, it becomes law. However, the opposition has accused the law of being "anti-Muslim." The central government, however, said the "historic reforms" were made in the interest of minorities. The Muslim Waqf (Revocation) Bill was also passed by both Houses of Parliament. As a result, the Muslim Waqf Act of 1923 has been repealed. On the other hand, several cases have been filed against this law in the Supreme Court.
