Union Government is launching a nationwide "Mera Yuva Bharat" platform - a new autonomous body for youth and youth-led development to mark Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary on 31st Oct. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday announced about the launching event and said “Mera Yuva Bharat” platform to give the youth an opportunity to play an active role in various nation building events. In his 106th episode of his monthly flagship radio show “Mann Ki Baat” broadcast, Modi said the ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ website is also going to be launched and the youth should register on MYBharat.Gov.in.
“MYBharat will provide an opportunity to the youth of India to play an active role in various nation building events. This is a unique effort of integrating the youth power of India in building a developed India,” the Narendra Modi said. He also noted that October 31 marks former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s death anniversary and paid tributes to her.
In his remarks, Modi reiterated his strong pitch for being ‘vocal for local’. “Like every time, this time too, during festivals, our priority should be ‘Vocal for Local’,” Prime Minister said. “I want to reiterate my request that wherever you go on tourism or pilgrimage buy products made by local artisans,” he said. Modi also said that on Gandhi Jayanti, Khadi witnessed record sales.
The platform will lead to:
Better alignment between youth aspirations and community needs.
Enhanced efficiency through convergence of existing programmes.
A one-stop-shop for young people and ministries.
Create a centralized youth database.
Improved two-way communication to connect youth government initiatives and activities of other stakeholders that engage with youth.
The Union Cabinet has approved the establishment of this autonomous body “Mera Yuva Bharat” (MY Bharat).
This body is designed to serve as a pivotal mechanism for youth development, with a strong emphasis on technology-driven solutions. MY Bharat aims to enable equitable access for young individuals to realize their aspirations and contribute to the holistic development of the nation across various government sectors. This initiative aligns with the National Youth Policy and targets individuals between the ages of 15-29, with a subset of programs catering to those aged 10-19.
