Rajahmundry Central Jail’s premises become the venue for fresh “political alignment” in Andhra Pradesh. Janasena supremo Pawan Kalyan has announced that his party will contest together with the Telugu Desam Party in the 2024 general elections. This development is not unexpected. Heads of the both parties are running politics with the “hidden understanding “. But official announcement was made by Pawan Kalyan, who went to Rajahmundry Central Jail to meet former CM.

The essence of Pawan Kalyan's words is that there is no other way but to work with TDP to face YSRCP. He has been saying for some time that he will ensure that the anti-government votes are not split. He once realized that it would be difficult to face YSRCP if Jana Sena contested alone.

Chandrababu Naidu is also waiting for Pawan Kalyan's alliance since long time. Jana Sena Chief said that the state will not recover if YS Jagan forms the government again, so he has decided to defeat YSRCP at any cost. He made it clear that he is ready to works with TDP to beat YS Jagan in coming elections.

But the question is what about the ongoing friendship with the BJP in the state!. Pawan Kalyan is confident that if he talks to the BJP high command about the formation of an alliance under the leadership of TDP, he will get a positive response. That is why he replied to the media's question in Rajahmundry that he hoped that the BJP would agree to a three-party alliance.

“A crucial decision in the history of AP” - TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh commented that they will work together with Jana Sena. Party leaders are expressing their confidence that the war would be one-sided with alliance. However, YSRCP rebel MP Kanumuri Raghurama Raju said that “TDP-Jana Sena combination will create many sensations in the elections”.

Ruling YSRCP scoffed at the new alliances. State Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy has commented that Pawan Kalyan, who was in the BJP’s fold until yesterday, will tie up with Chandrababu because there is no proper response from BJP. Party General Secretary and Government advisor Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy has criticized Pawan Kalyan, said cine actor worked together for the TDP in 2009 and worked with hidden agenda of splitting the anti-government votes and contest separately in 2014 polls to damage the YSRCP. Sajjala calls alliance of Pawan Kalyan-Chandrababu an act of political drama. He predicts that YS Jagan's party will get 60 percent of the votes in the next election, no matter which parties form an alliance.

In response to Pawan Kalyan's comments, state BJP has stated that they will follow the directives of the party's high command and that the alliance will be determined by the central leadership. There is speculation regarding whether Pawan Kalyan would leave the BJP or if he is attempting to persuade the BJP to join the alliance led by TDP?. This has become a topic of debate!.

The issue of alliances has become a hot topic at a time when there is a campaign on social media that the Delhi BJP leaders are informed before the arrest of Chandrababu in the skill development scam. TDP leaders are not directly making such allegations. But pro-TDP media and social media are spreading the same opinion. AP BJP president Purandeshwari herself condemned her brother-in-law's arrest. Telangana BJP President Kishan Reddy and former president Bandi Sanjay also criticized the manner of arresting TDP Chief. Even though BJP condemned the arrest, there is a debate going on “whether YS Jagan's government can arrest Chandrababu without the support of the central government?”.

Until, the stand of the BJP high command on alliances is revealed, “TDP forces” are likely to continue its blame-game against the BJP over the Chandrababu's arrest issue.
