The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has set its sights on South India. Despite decades of effort, the party hasn't achieved its desired results in Telangana yet. However, this time, the national leadership strongly believes they can secure a victory here. The central leadership has not forgotten that Telangana historically provided one of the only two MP seats the BJP initially had.

Now, sensing that the time is right to capture power in the state, the national party is focusing entirely on Telangana. Groundwork is already underway. As part of this, BJP National President Nitin Nabin is arriving in Hyderabad on the 28th of this month for a three-day visit. He will tour various districts with a comprehensive action plan to motivate party workers.

Nitin Nabin’s Three Day Visit

During his three-day visit, Nitin Nabin will guide party leaders and workers. He is expected to lay out a "roadmap" covering everything from strengthening the party organization to achieving the goal of forming the government. He will discuss with senior leaders what programs need to be implemented in the state over the next two and a half years and what support is required from the central leadership. The BJP is taking strategic steps with the ultimate goal of coming to power in Telangana. The national leadership is focusing on strengthening the party to make it the primary alternative by the next Assembly elections. Nitin Nabin's three-day visit is politically significant. Party sources say he will review organizational structure, membership drives, strengthening booth-level committees, preparations for local body elections, and the overall political situation in the state.

Focus on Organizational Restructuring

The BJP made significant progress in the recent parliamentary elections in Telangana, winning 8 MP seats and securing a majority in half of the state's assembly constituencies. The party is trying to replicate this success in the upcoming Assembly elections. To achieve this, the national leadership is focusing on restructuring the party from the village level up to the state level.

Full-Fledged Committees for Every Booth

Nitin Nabin will visit Warangal district on the 29th. During this visit, he will explain the development projects sanctioned by the central government for the undivided Warangal district. The state party is also speeding up meetings with booth-level committees and prioritizing leaders who have previously worked with the Sangh Parivar. Arrangements are being made for Nitin Nabin to meet with Sangh Parivar leaders from North Telangana districts.

The party is preparing to:

·Strengthen committees at every polling booth.

·Empower BJP "Shakti Kendras."

·Reorganize Mandal and District committees.

·Focus specially on youth, women, farmers, and Backward Classes (BCs).

·Expand the IT and Social Media wings (the party recently welcomed a large number of IT professionals).

State Executive Meetings on the 30th

National executive meetings are scheduled for the 30th in Ghatkesar. State Party President Ramachandra Rao recently traveled to Delhi to personally invite Nitin Nabin to these meetings. During this three-day visit, a special action plan for winning the state will be drafted.

Leaders will review reports on:

·The future outlook for the BJP and how to move forward.

·The current situation of the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS.

·The BJP plans to present itself as the right alternative to the people, arguing that the Congress is failing to fulfill its promises and that the BRS has left the state heavily in debt.

Aggressive Stance Against the Congress Govt

The BJP has decided to act more aggressively against the ruling Congress government in the state. The leadership is expected to advise party members to go to the public highlighting issues like unfulfilled election promises, farmers' struggles, unemployment, corruption allegations, and issues with welfare scheme implementation. At the same time, the party wants to speed up campaigns promoting the central government's welfare schemes.

Discussions will also take place on moving forward with strong, well-coordinated leadership in the state. The central leadership feels it is essential to have vocal leaders who can boldly question the state government. There are thoughts of bringing in more outspoken leaders to complement the current ones. The national leadership will likely advise central ministers, MPs, MLAs, and state leaders to improve coordination and move forward with a unified strategy.

GHMC Elections as the First Test

The BJP is taking the upcoming Urban local body and Greater Hyderabad Municipal elections very seriously. By increasing their influence in Mandal Parishad and Zilla Parishad elections, they aim to build a strong political foundation in rural areas. The party believes these election results will set the direction for the future Assembly elections. As part of this, they are drafting plans to attract youth, the urban middle class, BC communities, women, and first-time voters through special outreach programs.

Long-Term Political Strategy

The BJP is currently executing a long-term political strategy in Telangana. The party estimates that to bring their parliamentary success down to the Assembly level, they must strengthen their organizational structure in rural areas. This is why the national leadership is frequently focusing on the state's organizational matters. Political analysts view these three days of meetings as a process to finalize the BJP's political roadmap for the next elections. Believing there is public dissatisfaction with the Congress government, the BJP's main goal is to turn this situation into a political advantage and move closer to power.
