On January 12, the day of Swami Vivekananda's birth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the National Youth Festival in Nashik, a pilgrimage town in Maharashtra. The 27th edition of the meet, which takes place from January 12–16, will feature multiple events. One of the main events of the National Integration Camp (NIC) program, the National Youth Festival got its start in 1995.This program is carried out annually in partnership with a State and organizations such as the National Service Scheme (NSS) and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS).

Chief Minister of Maharashtra Eknath Shinde chaired a high-level meeting to discuss the planning. Attendees included Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, Ministers of Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil, Cultural Affairs, and Sports; Minister Dadaji Bhuse, Minister for Rural Development, Sports, and Cultural Affairs; Chief Secretary Dr. Nitin Kareer; Additional Chief Secretary O P Gupta; and Divisional Commissioner Radhakrishna Game.

The festival aims to promote national integration, give voice to the hidden qualities of youth, preserve culture and traditions, and foster general youth development, according to officials. The inaugural event is scheduled to take place at Nashik's Tapovan Maidan.
