Lok Sabha Insights | Seat Spotlight – Wardha and Nanded

As the election schedule for Lok Sabha 2024 was announced by the Election Commission of India on March 16, the elections for Maharashtra is set to begin from April 19 and go on till May 20, 2024. The western state will vote for its 48 seats in five phases.

Here’s what the analysis says on Wardha and Nanded –

Wardha

As per reports, there is a lot of resentment against current MP Ramdas Tadas. While people of Wardha want to bring BJP candidate in power but one can’t deny the activities of NCP (Sharad Pawar) and INC. Compared to 2019, the VBA factor has reduced in the state. While BJP can split the Buddhist votes, Kunbi community votes seems to be moving towards the NCP. However, it remains to be seen if Arvi MLA Dadarao Keche and Wardha MLA Pankaj Bhoyar are able to get positively attract the Kunbi community.  When it comes to whether Ram Mandir has any impact on this seat, the Adivasi (Gond) community are quite impressed by the event.

Nanded

Congress suffered a big jolt after Ashok Chavan joined the BJP. However, it’s never easy when a strong leader joins an even stronger party; BJP needs to create a smooth coordination between old BJP workers and Ashok Chavan’s workers to really make use of the ace. Another additional vote can be of the Banjara community who are in favour of the BJP due to MLA Tushar Rathod. However, the ruling party has to balance the anger of the Maratha community because if Jarange Patil supports Vasantrao Chavan of INC, BJP can suffer a huge loss.
