Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presented a Rs 3.71 lakh crore state budget. Siddaramaiah began the speech by quoting influences from the state, the Chief Minister announced major allocations to minority, women, and child welfare, as well as Bengaluru development. Presenting the state budget, The Chief Minister said,  ₹100 crore for the Waqf board,  ₹200 crore for the Christian community, and  ₹10 crore for the construction of Haj Bhavan in Mangaluru will be allotted. Another  ₹50 crore will be allotted to develop the Jain pilgrimage destinations in the state. Meanwhile, the state government has also allotted funds to construct Ram Temples from the state budget.  ₹100 crore will be allotted to build Ram temples in many parts of the state, Siddaramaiah said in his budget speech. 

CM announces 2,710 crore for SC-ST

For the construction of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Classes, and Minority Residential Schools and Hostels, a total of Rs 2,710 crore has been provided.  Siddaramaiah further announced that a total of 29 residential school complexes belonging to various departments will be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 638 crore.

During the Budget session, BJP MLAs also staged a protest at Vidhan Soudha, they staged a walkout of the state Assembly during the budget presentation signalling their dissatisfaction with the proposals put forth by the government. 

Reacting To the budget, Bengaluru MP Tejasvi Surya said that to take money from the Hindu temples and use it to fund the religious institutions of non-Hindu faith is the standard of secular leaders like Siddharamaiah. Secularism, as practiced by them, is not just a stick to browbeat the Hindu, it is also a tool to financially enrich others at the cost of the Hindu.
