His wife, Mallika, is a Bengali by birth. He was received at the Kolkata airport by Suvendu Adhikari, Sukanta Majumdar, and Dilip Ghosh. J. P. Nadda was welcomed at the airport with drums. He visited the Durga Puja at Santosh Mitra Square. For the better development of the country and society, he prayed to the goddess for good power. At the same time, he asked Goddess Durga for strength to fight against the demonic forces. "I pray that Goddess Durga gives us strength to fight against demonic forces like nepotism, corruption, and infiltration," Nadda said after visiting the puja pandal at Santosh Mitra Square."
