According to persons acquainted with the situation, top leaders from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and Mauritius are expected to be among those invited to PM Modi's oath-taking ceremony on Wednesday. Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Mauritius are among the nations represented.

The interim Prime Minister has already invited Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe to attend his oath-taking ceremony. He called Narendra Modi and congratulated him on the BJP-led NDA's electoral triumph. "During the conversation, Prime Minister @narendramodi invited President Wickremesinghe to his swearing-in ceremony, which President @RW_UNP accepted," the President's Media Division of Sri Lanka stated in a post on X (previously Twitter).

Modi also called Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and invited her to his swearing-in event. Hasina accepted his offer, according to sources cited by PTI. According to the sources cited above, Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Jugnauth, and Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' would all be invited to the event. The formal invitations will be sent on Thursday, June 6. Following the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning 293 seats in the Lok Sabha elections, Modi will become prime minister for an unprecedented third straight term.

The BJP did not win a majority on its own; nonetheless, the party-led NDA alliance won 293 of 543 seats. The Lower House's majority threshold is 272. The creation of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is set to take place now that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Janata Dal-United (JDU), the possible "kingmakers," have agreed. The swearing-in event for Modi is expected to take place on June 8. The leaders of the SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) countries attended Modi's swearing-in ceremony after the BJP's resounding electoral victory. The leaders of the BIMSTEC countries attended Modi's swearing-in ceremony for his second term as prime minister in 2019.
