West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was sharply criticized by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who accused her of corruption and meddling in the ongoing Sandeshkhali case probe. The chief minister of Assam, Sarma, attacked Banerjee's leadership on Friday, saying that she has been plundering Bengal. "What problem does CM Banerjee have? He remarked, "She is only robbing Bengal of anything." "It is unacceptable for someone of Mamata's stature to accept payments in exchange for jobs. If nothing else, you shouldn't accept payment for jobs. Regardless of religion Hindu or Muslim no one should accept money," said Sarma.
Additionally, Sarma expressed worries about CM Mamta interfering with the Sandeshkhali case probe. The Supreme Court and the High Court have ordered the CBI to look into the Sandeshkhali issue. CM Banerjee, you shouldn't get involved. Why are you meddling with the inquiry process when the CBI has been ordered to conduct an investigation by both the Supreme Court and the High Court? It indicates that you have a suspicious feeling in your heart; otherwise, why are you interfering?" stated Sarma.
It should be mentioned that Shahjahan Sheikh, the primary accused in the Sandeshkhali case, is incarcerated at the moment because of an attack on an ED team that was conducting a raid on his home in connection with an alleged ration scam.
