Gujarat state government has set a new record on the first day of the New Year with the event of Surya Namaskar. As a welcoming vent of 2024, Mass Surya Namaskars were held at 108 places in the state. This event has been registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.

More than 4000people participated in the Mass Surya Namaskar event at 108 places. Participants were presented in 51 different categories. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi, several students, elderly people and yoga enthusiasts participated in the record-breaking event held at the Modhera Sun Temple.
A representative of the Guinness Book of World Records was also present at the event. A Guinness spokesperson said that this is the first record of the highest number of people doing Surya Namaskar at one time.
