BJP's 'Vikash ka Ganga’ in Assam

The BJP government has initiated various development projects throughout Assam. Accordingly, The Prime Minister will virtually lay the foundation stone for the semi-conductor unit project of Rs 27,000 crore on March 13.

On Sunday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held the Bhumi Pujan ceremony for the 50 MW solar project being built in Sonitpur district. SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN, is developing the solar project in Sitalmari hamlet, Dhekiajuli Revenue Sector, Sonitpur.

The anticipated cost of construction is Rs. 291 crores. The project will create 101 million units of green energy in the first year, and the total energy generation over 25 years will be around 2,319 million units.

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 125-foot-tall Lachit Borphukan statue, which cost Rs. 175 crore. This project involved 49 bighas of 2 katha 17 lecha land. The Prime Minister unveiled the statue of Lachit Borphukan, which comes with audio-visual installations, water fountains, and residential blocks, among other facilities.

Apart from this the Prime Minister launched multiple projects worth ₹17,500 crore from Meleng Meteli Pothar in Jorhat on Saturday. He opened Tinsukia Medical College and Hospital, a Child Care Unit at B. Baruah Cancer Institute in Guwahati, the Barauni to Guwahati natural gas pipeline, and two crude oil pumping stations for Oil India Limited.
