The BJP has dispatched a central team to West Bengal to assess the incidents of political violence following the recent elections. This four-member committee, led by MP Biplab Deb, includes Ravi Shankar Prasad, Brijlal, and Kavita Patidar. The team is tasked with evaluating the situation and reporting back to BJP President JP Nadda.

According to a BJP press release, while the Lok Sabha elections concluded peacefully across 28 states and 8 union territories, West Bengal has experienced significant post-election violence. This situation mirrors the unrest seen after the 2021 assembly elections in the state.

The press release criticizes the Chief Minister of West Bengal for allegedly remaining passive as party-associated criminals target and intimidate opposition workers and voters. In response, the Kolkata High Court has mandated the extended deployment of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) until June 21, with a further review scheduled for June 18.

The committee's visit to West Bengal aims to thoroughly investigate the incidents of violence. Their findings will be compiled into a detailed report and submitted to JP Nadda for further action.
