Childhood Dream Coming True
Since childhood, Jaji has always been seeking happiness by resting in the lap of the mother forest. He teaches lessons about nature to school children. Being one with nature.. He is always working to protect the forests by planting saplings somewhere in near forest area. He is continuing his project of collecting plastic waste from the forest area since his childhood.
Komera Jaji, a “Forest Man of Palnadu”, who has been working like a one-man army for environmental protection, was recently appointed as an advisor for the Forest and Environment departments.
Real Conservator of Nallamala
Komera Jaji's real name is Ankarao. His hometown is Karampudi near Macherla in the Erstwhile Guntur district. This 43-year-old forest lover studied up to BA and completed a diploma in astrology. He is currently studying for a Master's Degree. Jaji, who is married, has two children. His life is completely intertwined with nature. He has been wandering in forests, hills ,and corners since childhood and has become intertwined with nature.
Komera Jaji's efforts for nature conservation are extraordinary. He single-handedly collected and removed plastic waste scattered over about two lakh acres in the Nallamala forests. Carrying a bag on his shoulder, he roamed the forests and collected plastic waste. He knows very well how much harm plastic pollution causes to forests and wildlife. That is why he considered this issue his responsibility and worked. Jaji did not limit himself to just collecting waste. He scattered crores of seed balls in the Nallamala forests. These sprouted during the monsoon and grew into trees. Through this method, he made a significant contribution to the restoration of forests.
Pakruti Ashram – Awareness Center
To further expand his programs, Jaji founded the NGO' Prakriti Samrakshna Seva Sanstha’. Through this organization, he is working to plant one crore saplings. He has also set up a ‘Prakriti Ashram’ in a forest near Karampudi. This ashram functions as an environmental awareness center. He explains to farmers about the medicinal properties of plants and encourages them to plant them. He collects herbs, leaves, and other natural materials and also practices traditional medicine with them. So far, 3,000 students in 300 schools in the two Telugu states have been made aware of the environment.
The TDP-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh recognized Komera Jaji’s extraordinary efforts for nature conservation. Recognizing his commitment to working like a true forest officer despite not having studied IFS, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan appointed him as the Advisor to the Forest and Environment Department. Social media is describing Jaji's appointment as a 'respect for a person responsible for nature'. His selfless service is a role model for the youth and society. His role as an advisor has the potential to give a new direction to the policies of the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department. His experience in nature conservation and understanding of local needs can make the government's policies more accessible. Through this appointment, the Andhra Pradesh government has demonstrated its commitment to environmental protection. It is literally true that nature will be safe as long as there are people like Komera Jaji.
