The Judicial First Class Magistrate Court-II in Palakkad has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against yoga guru Baba Ramdev, his aide Acharya Balkrishna, and Divya Pharmacy, the marketing division of Patanjali Ayurved. The warrant was issued over a misleading advertisement case registered by the Drugs Inspector, Palakkad, in October 2024

The case was registered under the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act, 1954, following allegations that Patanjali Ayurved falsely advertised its products as cures for high blood pressure and diabetes.

Initially, the court had summoned Ramdev and the others to appear on January 16. After their failure to comply, a bailable warrant was issued, instructing them to appear on February 1. Their repeated failure to appear prompted the court to issue a non-bailable warrant. The next hearing is set for February 15.

Patanjali Ayurved has been facing multiple legal challenges over unverified medical claims. Similar cases have been registered in Kozhikode and Haridwar, where several summons have been issued.

Sources from the drugs department indicate that Baba Ramdev and his associates face a total of 12 cases in Kerala. Legal proceedings are ongoing as authorities take action against the company’s controversial health claims.
