Vistara will operate its final flight under its brand on November 11, with operations merging into Air India starting November 12. The merger, which received government approval for foreign direct investment by Singapore Airlines, marks the end of Vistara’s independent operations. Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Group and Singapore Airlines, will see its aircraft and routes integrated into Air India, which is also owned by Tata Group.

Beginning September 3, 2024, customers will gradually lose the ability to book Vistara flights for travel on or after November 12, 2024. Bookings for these routes will be redirected to Air India's website. Until November 11, Vistara will continue to accept bookings and operate flights as usual

The merger, initially announced in November 2022, will result in Singapore Airlines holding a 25.1% stake in the unified Air India. Vistara CEO Vinod Kannan highlighted that the merger aims to offer passengers a broader range of choices with a larger fleet and an expanded network, enhancing the overall travel experience.

Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson stated that cross-functional teams from both airlines have been working together for months to ensure a seamless transition for aircraft, crew, ground staff, and customers into the new Air India. In a separate statement, Air India welcomed the Union Cabinet's approval of the foreign direct investment by Singapore Airlines, which will support the merger's completion.
