As PM Modi visited Srinagar today to address a massive rally in Jammu & Kashmir, he dedicated a Holistic Agricultural Development Programme worth Rs 5000 crore to India.  PM Narendra Modi also launched projects related to tourism sector like Swadesh Darshan and PRASHAD scheme worth more than 1400 crore.

The Prime Minister also launched interactive campaigns like Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll and Chalo India Global Diaspora Campaign which can help promote the country’s tourism sector and support Jammu & Kashmir in becoming a global tourist destination. On his first tour to the Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370, PM Narendra Modi interacted with beneficiaries of government schemes including Lakhpati didis, entrepreneurs, women achievers etc.

As he started his address to the public, PM Modi referred to Kashmir as heaven on Earth. He further added: “I have been told that 1 lakh people from 285 blocks have joined us virtually. I want to thank the people of Jammu and Kashmir. It is that new J&K for which we have been waiting for decades. It is that new J&K for which Dr Syama Prasad Mukherjee sacrificed his life. This new J&K has a bright future and the courage to overcome challenges. Seeing your happy faces, 140 crore people across the country are feeling satisfied,”

During the Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir Programme, PM Narendra Modi also interacted with beneficiaries from Jammu, Kupwara, Shopian, Bandipura, Kathua, Srinagar, Kishtwar and Ganderbal.
