The United States has stated that it is closely monitoring reports of Kejriwal's recent arrest and emphasized the importance of a fair and transparent legal process. This statement from the US comes shortly after Germany also called for an impartial trial for Kejriwal, leading to a strong reaction from India.

A spokesperson from the US State Department mentioned, "We encourage a fair, transparent, and timely legal process for Chief Minister Kejriwal," in response to inquiries about the case. This incident prompted India to summon a German envoy to express its strong protest against the remarks made by the German government regarding Kejriwal's arrest.

Germany had expressed concerns about Kejriwal's arrest, stating, "We assume and expect that the standards relating to independence of judiciary and basic democratic principles will also be applied in this case." This prompted the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to summon the German deputy envoy and convey India's strong objection. The MEA emphasized that Germany's remarks amounted to interference in India's judicial process and unwarranted biased assumptions.

Regarding India's protest to Germany, the US State Department spokesperson declined to comment and referred inquiries to the German Foreign Ministry for clarification. The Indian embassy in Washington did not immediately respond to requests for comments on the State Department's reaction.
