The UPSC cancels the candidature of Trainee IAS officer Puja Khedkar. As a result, Puja lost her job. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the organiser of the civil services examination, said on Wednesday that Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar's name was initially recommended for the job on the basis of the 2022 Civil Services Examination. Her candidature is being rejected.
Puja was found by the UPSC for appearing for the exam multiple times under false identities. At the same time, she will not be able to participate in any examination or recruitment process in the future.
The UPSC said in a statement that Khedkar was found guilty of violating the Civil Services Examination Rules. She was served a show-cause notice in this regard. The notice, sent on July 18, asked them to reply by July 25.
Instead of replying to the show-cause notice, the 34-year-old IAS aspirant had sought an extension until August 4. However, the UPSC gave her time till July 30. And it is said that this is the final deadline. After that, the time will not be extended in any way.
The UPSC had also told Puja Khedkar that if the reply was not received within this time, the authorities would take action. In a statement, the panel said Puja was asked to give her statement within the stipulated time, but there was no response from her. The authorities examined all the documents and found him guilty.
Puja Khedkar was accused of using forged documents to prove her physical disability. In her application form, Puja claimed that she had a visual impairment. However, despite eight calls, she did not go to AIIMS and get her eyesight checked by MRI. She claimed that she could not get an MRI done because she had mental health problems. She then submitted an MRI report from a private hospital in Pune. The report and her OBC certificate were allegedly fake. Following the allegations, the UPSC issued a show-cause notice to Puja. She was given time until 3.30 pm on July 30th to respond to the notice. However, the UPSC did not respond to the move.
